Rangers reserve goalkeeper Grant Adam has pleaded not guilty to singing sectarian songs while on a night out in Glasgow.

It is alleged the 20-year-old took part in offensive singing outside a nightclub in the Merchant City area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Mr Adam was granted bail and ordered to return to Glasgow Sheriff Court for a further hearing in January.

Rangers said they were aware of legal proceedings and would investigate.

The goalkeeper's brother, Charlie Adam, plays for Liverpool.

A spokesman for the Ibrox club said: "We are aware that a player was arrested and we will investigate the matter fully before we make a comment."
